Emergency raincoats are usually made of durable and waterproof materials such as polyethylene (PE) or polyvinyl chloride (PVC). To ensure its service life and waterproof performance, the correct cleaning method is very important. Here are some steps and precautions for washing emergency raincoats:

Washing steps

1. Check for stains: First check if there are obvious stains or spots on the raincoat. If so, you can use a special detergent or apply some neutral soap to pre-treat these areas before washing.

2. Wet the raincoat: Turn the raincoat over and wet it with warm water. If you use a washing machine to wash, you can choose a gentle mode and use warm water.

3. Add detergent: Add an appropriate amount of neutral detergent or special laundry detergent in a basin or washing machine. Dissolve or mix it evenly according to the instructions for use of the detergent.

4. Gentle washing: Put the raincoat in a basin or put it in the washing machine, and wash it gently by gently rubbing it manually or using the gentle mode set on the washing machine. For stubborn stains, you can use a soft brush to gently scrub it.

5. Rinse thoroughly: After washing, take the raincoat out of the detergent water and rinse it thoroughly with clean water. Make sure all the detergent is washed off to avoid affecting the waterproof performance of the raincoat.

6. Remove excess water: Gently squeeze the raincoat to remove excess water, but do not wring it hard to avoid damaging the fabric.

7. Dry: Hang or lay the raincoat flat to dry, away from direct sunlight to avoid deformation or fading.

Precautions

- Avoid exposure: No matter what material the raincoat is made of, it should not be exposed to the sun, as ultraviolet rays can cause the material to age or become brittle.

- Avoid high temperatures: Do not place the raincoat over a fire or near other high temperature sources to avoid damaging the material.

- Avoid using alkaline detergents: Do not use soaps or detergents with high alkalinity, as this may damage the waterproof performance of the raincoat.

- Avoid improper folding: When storing the raincoat, it should be folded neatly to avoid wrinkles or cracks.

Through the above steps and precautions, you can effectively wash the emergency raincoat, extend its service life, and maintain its good waterproof performance.
